Gary Gerard Zadonia, age 66 of Sanford, passed away February 28, 2024 at home with family by his side. He was born in Bay City on November 1, 1957 to the late Harold and Stella (Michalik) Zadonia. Gary married the former Kelly Charbonneau in Kawkawlin on January 25, 1975 and they shared 49 years together.
Going fishing, golfing, hunting, and bowling brought Gary great joy. He will not only be remembered for his love of sports, particularly the Detroit Lions and Redwings, but the love he had for his family. He enjoyed sitting under the gazebo with them, his friends, and his cat Urd.
Surviving is his wife, Kelly Zadonia; children, Diane Zadonia (Jeff Gibbons), Douglass Zadonia, Nichole Zadonia; grandchildren, Rhiannon, Tim, Stephanie, Odin; great grandchild, Theo; siblings, Nancy (Larry) McQuarter, Robert Zadonia, Ed (Kim) Zadonia, Sandy (Byron) Schatzer, Carol Zadonia; parents in-law, Bill (Phillis) Charbonneau; siblings in-law, Phyllis (Rich) Jachim, Eve Kammer, Beth Dennison; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Harry "Junior"; siblings in-law, Art Dennison, Gregg Kammer, Bill Charbonneau Jr.
Funeral services for Gary will take place at 11 am on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Military Honors being provided by the United States Navy and the Midland Area Veterans. Interment will follow in New Edenville Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5 – 8 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the wishes of the family.
