Garald F. Allen

Garald Fredrick Allen, 100, of Venice, FL, passed away on February 13, 2018. He was born in Toldeo, Ohio on November 30, 1917 to Mamie (nee Bacon) and Roy Allen. Garald was a graduate of Albion in 1941 and received his Masters of Chemical engineering degree from University of Iowa in 1942. He was a chemical engineer for Dow Chemical in Midland, MI for 32 years until his retirement in 1972. Garald received his second Master's in Guidance and Counseling at Central Michigan University. He was a member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, a member of Midland Jay Vestors, a member of Building Commute of MUMC, a member of Venice Presbyterian Church in Venice, FL, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Midland, MI.Garald is preceded by his wife Dorothy Allen, his brother John, and his sister Arline. He is survived by his son John Allen of Ferndale, MI; daughter Kathleen (Vance) Pomranky of Mokena, IL; grandchildren: Christopher, Emily, Esther, Luke, Bethany, and Sharon; 2 great grandchildren: Desmond and Miles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Venice Presbyterian Church of Venice, FL, or First United Methodist Church of Midland, MI. Local arrangements are being handled by the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
