Frank W. Stockton

Frank W. Stockton, age 75 of Midland died Thursday February 24, 2011 at Brittany Manor. The son of the late Benjamin and Lydia (Hauri) Stockton was born on November 5, 1935 in Midland where he was raised and educated. He married the former Joyce M. Taylor in 1956 in Grand Rapids. Frank worked for the U S Postal Service as a letter carrier retiring in 1992 with twenty seven years of service. Frank taught music and played several instruments and directed choir at Midland Bible Baptist Church for nine years and also at Open Door Baptist Church. He was a member of the Midland Christian Academy and attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mr. Stockton is survived by his children, Timothy (Joni) Stockton of Midland, Rex Stockton of Clarksville, TN, Jeffrey (Mary) Stockton of St. Louis, MO and Laura (Michael) Ceccarelli of Escanaba, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Peter Stockton, Stacey & Morgan Fruehling, Taylor Stockton, Shea Stockton, Keegan Stockton; great grandchildren, Jacob, Madison and Allison; sisters, Madeline Cochran and Grace Melchi. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harlan and Wayne.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, February 28, 2011 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Jody Ellis of the Open Door Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the Gideon's or St. Joseph Indian Children's School.
