Forest R. Minger Jr., age 80 of Midland, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland. The son of the late Forest R. and Florence (Bessey) Minger Sr. was born in Midland on October 14, 1935. Forest graduated from Midland High School in 1953 and went on to receive his Bachelors in Science from the University of Michigan. He was employed by Dow Corning as a chemist, retiring in 1995 after 35 years of service. Forest enjoyed fishing, hunting, downhill skiing, and skating.
Forest is survived by cousin, Jane Willard and family of Bay City; Special friend and companion, Susie Tucker and family; friend, Tim Bosma of Manistee. The family gives special thanks to the staff of the critical care unit at Mid-Michigan Medical Center for their care and support through this time.
Funeral and committal services for Forest will take place at 1:00 pm Thursday January 21, 2016 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Sawicki from Aldersgate United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund.
