Florence E. Poole

Florence E. (Syckle) Poole, age 91 0f Midland died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Brittany Manor. The daughter of the late Harvey E. and Esther F. (Baker) Syckle was born on April 28, 1920 in Lamoni, Iowa moving to Midland as a youth where she was raised and educated. On December 31, 1956 she married Lee V. Poole in Midland and he predeceased her on July 2, 1999. Florence retired from The Dow Chemical Co. with twenty years of service, doing clerical work in accounting. They then moved to Cadillac where she and her husband owned a party store and later moved to Florida, returning to Midland in 1997. In her younger years, Florence enjoyed skiing and dancing. As she grew older, she enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, walking her dog and visiting with family and friends. The family would like to thank Almost Heaven Home Care, Plainview Assisted Living and Brittany Manor for their loving care.

Florence is survived by her brother, Leon (Fran) Syckle; nieces, Patricia (Don) Sibbald, Nancy (Tom) Gregory, Joanna (John) Kernstock; step son in law, Martin Dowling; step grandchildren, Tara and Troy; and niece, Veniesa Syckle.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her step daughter, Nancy Dowling and nephew, Lee Syckle.

Memorial Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from Community of Christ, 2821 Ashman St., with Elder Patricia Sibbald and Priest Joanna Kernstock officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service

Memorials may be offered to the Community of Christ or the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements are by the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
