Florence "Mill" Newman

Florence "Mill" Newman age 75 of Sanford died at Covenant Cooper, Saginaw, on Saturday February 1, 2014. The daughter of the late Herman and Lilah (Erskine) Zilska was born on June 12, 1938 in Midland where she was raised and educated. On July 30, 1955 she married Larry Newman in Sanford and he survives. Mill was a homemaker but enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, embroidering and her flower garden. She also spent many hours working and cleaning the Sanford Cemetery with her family. A real love of her heart was the time spent in Brimley, MI and at the Two Hearted River Camp Grounds.

Mill is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Newman. She is also survived by her daughter Kathy (Jeff) Wilkins of Sanford; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one deceased great grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers Russell, Paul and Albert Zilska; sisters Donna McHenry, Sandy Houtman and Alice Welch. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son Larry Newman, brother John Zilska , sister Jeanette Benchley and Lillie Newman.

Funeral service for Mrs. Newman will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday February 6, 2014 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sanford Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 8 pm.
