Fern D. Pearson

Fern D. Pearson, age 84 of Midland died at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Thursday, November 19, 2009. The daughter of the late James and Jennie (Dell) De Geer was born on December 16, 1924 in Midland where she was raised and educated. On September 20, 1980 she married Mr. Kenneth S. Pearson. Fern worked as the Administrator for King's Daughters home for eighteen years. Fern was proud of her time at King's Daughters and loved the residents and staff and enjoyed her many friends. Fern was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she worked as a secretary and enjoyed her volunteer work with the church.

Fern is survived by her husband Kenneth, son James (Barbara) Ecarius of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and daughter Pamela "Penny" Ecarius of Midland. She is also survived by step son Karl Pearson of Traverse City and step daughter Karen Miki of Sarasota, FL, grandchildren Nicolas Ecarius, Ryan Ecarius, Megan Connor, Debra Kaser, Rebecca Miki and Christine Miki. Fern will also be missed by her sisters Marjorie Bradley of Midland and Patricia Petrie of Frankfort. In addition to her parents Fern was predeceased by a brother James De Geer Jr. and a sister Phyllis Foster Rice.

Funeral service for Fern will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday November 21, 2009 from the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 am until time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be offered The Legacy Center or to the First United Methodist Church.
