Evelyn J. Thorp

Evelyn Thorp died at Brookdale on November 27, 2015. Evelyn was born on July 21, 1924 in Cohocton, NY to the late John N. and Edna (Page) Young. Evelyn was employed as a registered nurse by the Saginaw Veterans Administration Center, the Midland Visiting Nurse Association and the Midland County Department of Public Health. As a public health nurse, she served the Sanford area until her retirement in 1990.

Evelyn is survived by her son Jeffery Thorp of Falls Church, VA and her brother John W. Young of Bloomfield, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Harvey E. Young.

No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Meridian Public Schools Scholarship Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice. In accordance with Evelyn's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
