Evelyn M. (McDonald) Craig, age 91 of Midland, died Tuesday evening September 27, 2016 at King's Daughters Home in Midland surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Alex and Mary M. (Trombley) McDonald was born in Mt. Haley Township, Midland County on September 19, 1925 where she was raised and educated graduating from Midland High School. Evelyn was a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church. She had been employed as a cook at Dow Chemical and Dow Corning Cafeteria and then went to work at the Midland Hospital in the Cafeteria for 7 years. Evelyn also work in the day care area at the Midland Community Center well into her 70's. She enjoyed cooking, baking especially cinnamon rolls, crocheting but most of all she enjoyed listening to her grandchildren talk about their sporting events. In her young years Evelyn played softball with Midland Area Teams. On December 22, 1945 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ryan Evelyn married William L. Craig and after 62 years of marriage he died in July 29, 2008.


Surviving is her son, Tim (Sue) Craig of Midland; daughter, Linda Gould of Midland; grandchildren, Troy (Jerilyn) Gould, Trevor (Heather) Gould, Quintin Reisinger, Kirstin Reisinger, Kandace Reisinger, Trevor (Sarah) Reisinger; great grandchildren, Braden, Ethan, Brady, Eli, Lilly, Michael, Rylee, Korbin, James, Maria, Abrina, Kamdyn and Jordan; sister, Joan Hume sisters in law, Patricia Connelly, Donna Maxwell, Enid Siebert, Bonnie McDonald; brother in law, Jim (Darlene) Craig; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by brothers, Dale, Clyde, Miles, Ray, Don, Bob and Ted McDonald; sisters, Elsie Glesner and Ruth Wendt.


The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday morning October 3, 2016 from St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick C. O'Connor officiating. The rite of committal will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 till 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. Family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at King's Daughters for the wonderful care given to Evelyn.
