Eva J. (Howe) Potts

Eva J. (Howe) Potts, age 99 of Midland died at her residence on Sunday August 14, 2011. The daughter of the late John T. and Evanna (Mason) Howe was born in Midland County on November 26, 1911 where she was raised and educated. On June 2, 1931 she married John A. Potts in Midland and he pre-deceased her on January 6, 1987. Eva was baptized in the original Midland First Baptist Church in 1925 and has been a long time member of the church. She had worked for the former DeLuxe Cleaners for 25 years and also for the former American Cleaners until her retirement in 1979. Eva was one of the first residents to make her home at Riverside Place in 1994 and was an avid bowler. The family would like to thank the caregivers with Heartland Homecare and Hospice for their dedication and love for Eva's care.

Eva is survived by her son, Lawrence (Alice Jean) Potts of Midland; her daughter, Dorothy (Paul) Card of Midland; seven grandchildren, Michael (Brenda) Card of Oklahoma City, OK, Kathryn (Mark) Sirrine of Midland, James (Michele) Card of Grand Blanc, Kenneth (Laurie) Potts of Glendale, AZ, Mary Jo (Michael) Witer of Beaverton, John Potts of Canton, Christopher (Jill) Potts of Lansing; 12 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; sister in law, Kathryn Schlosser of Midland. She was predeceased by her parents; one grandchild; brother, Vern Howe; sisters, Florence Vincent, Alta Vlier, Nina Wendt, Della Hurley and Margaret Sheets.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 17, 2011 from the First Baptist Church in Midland. Rev. John Dick will officiate. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. unit the time of service.
