Etta C. Mclaughlin

Etta C. McLaughlin, 94 of Midland died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Applewood Assisted Living. The daughter of the late Roscoe and Ruth (Fike) Cary was born February 2, 1922 in Isabella County. Etta married Andrew F. McLaughlin in Alma on June 28, 1946. After 63 years of marriage he predeceased her December 9, 2009. Preceding her marriage Etta had worked for General Telephone in Alma and later for a brief time at the Dow Chemical Company. She had been very active with the Family Community Education (also known as Midland County Home Extension). Etta enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of the Gordonville United Methodist Church where she participated in the prayer chain.

Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by her son Thomas McLaughlin of Midland; daughter Annette (Edward) Reihl of Lake; grandchildren Andrew J. McLaughlin, Chad McLaughlin, Joel Reihl and Cory Reihl; three great grandchildren; sister in law Neoma Cary; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her infant son James McLaughlin and brothers Nelson and Charles.

Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Homer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
