Ethel Jeanette "Jean" Timmons entered the sunrise of life on June 26, 1940 and exited into the sunset of life on February 8, 2024. She was 83 years old. On December 7, 1957 she married Rev. Robert Timmons and together they had five daughters. Jean was a member of TOPS, Happy Homemakers and spent most of her life selling Avon.
Jean could often be found reading poetry, especially by her favorite author, Helen Steiner Rice. She was also a writer and artist in her own right. In her role as pastor's wife, she enriched many lives and was never afraid to take on a huge battle for a good cause. Jean was a compassionate advocate for mental health and organized many soup kitchens. She loved gospel music, farmers markets, thrift stores, was an excellent cook and baker. Her strength and faith was unwavering.
Jean is survived by her sister, Judith Taylor; daughters, Susan Weimer (James Thomas), Julie O'Dell (Kevin Rossen), Debra (Steve) Coates, Ruby (Joe) Hottois, Michelle (Joe) Pritchett; grandchildren, Eileen, Scott and Pete Weimer, Cathy, Greg, Eric, and Stephanie O'Dell, Melissa York, Teresa Quintana-Fales, Amanda Kohtz, Tyler Altman, Ashur and Emily Pritchett; 20 great grandchildren and 4 and a half great great grandchildren; and a large extended family. Jean was predeceased by her husband Robert Timmons; parents, Marion John and Ruby Esther (Holmes) Tucker; mother in-law, Jane Kuhn; brothers, John and Thomas Tucker; son in-law, David Weimer; and grandson, James O'Dell.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Private burial will be in Homer Twp Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and may be found on her tribute page at www.wilson-miller.com starting and 12:45 pm.
