Esther Mae Beck, age 93 of Midland died Monday, October 1, 2013 at Tendercare.

The daughter of the late Richard and Viola (Farmer) Collins was born September 11, 1920 in Molus, Kentucky where she was raised and educated through the eighth grade.
Esther married Willie Saylor, Jr. when she was 16 years old and they moved to Detroit. In 1956, Esther moved to Midland and began working for AT & T in the housekeeping department until her retirement. In 1957 she married John P. Beck, who predeceased her in 1987.
Esther was a bell ringer and volunteer for the Salvation Army. She also volunteered for many functions at the Midland Center for the Arts.
She enjoyed going to Big Boy, twice a day, for over 30 years, where she was nicknamed "Grandma". Esther had a smile for everyone!

Mrs. Beck is survived by her daughters, Wilma Yates of Midland and Hazel (Richard) Mitchell of Jamestown, California; 29 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Thelma Patterson.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Reverend Gib Giblin of the Midland Evangelical Free Church officiating. Interment will be Roselawn Cemetery in Saginaw.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday October 11, 2013 from 6-8 pm and on Saturday October 12, 2013 from noon until the time of service.
Donations in Esther's memory may be offered to The Midland Salvation Army.
