Emma Mae Tohm

Emma Mae Tohm, age 75 of Shepherd, passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2020 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas. The daughter of the late Henry and Beatrice (McCann) Russell was born in Alberta, Canada on May 4, 1945. Mae ran a daycare for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant where she was involved in the Women's Auxiliary and was a preschool teacher for many years. Mae enjoyed painting, baking and cooking, going fishing, doing crafts and being outdoors working in the yard and her garden. She was also a member of M.A.D.D. and the Garden Club.

Surviving is her husband of 54 years Lanny Tohm; children, Daren (Stephanie) Tohm of Cheboygan, Michigan, Denise (Chuck) Chaffee of Winn, Michigan, Donald (Penny) Tohm of St. Charles; her grandchildren of which she enjoyed spending time with, Cody, Molly, Kassidy, Aaron Tohm, Adam, Eric Chaffee and Gabrielle Tohm; brother, Max (Sandy) Russell of Florida; sisters, Sue Bott and Maxine (Robert) Bott of Flushing; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Cathy Hadanek.

Funeral services for Mae will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday December 18, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Benjamin Ulledalen officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Zion Lutheran Church or their Preschool program.
