Elzie Dutch Wolker

Elzie "Dutch" Wolker, age 89 of Midland died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at MidMichigan Medical Center.
The son of the late Leo and Eva (Goodpaster) Wolker was born June 21, 1921 in Aurora, Indiana. Dutch received his Bachelor's degree from Purdue University and his Master's degree for Cornell University. He had an outstanding career with the U.S. Army as a Lab technician during WWII. Dutch moved to Midland in 1959 to work for the Dow Chemical Company as a chemical engineer, retiring after 20+ years of service.
For over 20 years he enjoyed wintering in Ft. Pierce, FL, was an avid fisherman, and a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Wolker is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Dreama (Salyer), who he married on February 29, 1975; daughters, Roberta Housholder of Lincoln Park, Terri (Robert) Lang of Bakersfield, CA, Cynthia Wolker-Chopp of Lansing, JoAnn (John) Williams of Beaverton, Brenda (George) Seamer of Saginaw; -9- grandchildren and -8- great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dutch will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Wallace H. Mayton, III officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Memorials may be offered to the Food Pantry at Memorial Presbyterian Church.
