Ella A. (Mashue) Tucker, age 91 of Midland, went to be with the Lord Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday evening April 1, 2009 at Brittany Manor. The daughter of the late William and Catherine (Starks) Mashue was born in Lee Township on September 7, 1917. Ella grew up on the banks of the Chippewa River in Lee Township and resided there most of her life. She had worked for Dow Corning in the cafeteria retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sanford, American Legion Auxiliary in Sanford and volunteered at MidMichigan Medical Center. Ella will be remembered for her love of family and friends, cooking, dancing, card playing and doing word search puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Patricia VanHorn of Midland, Lanny W. Tucker and partner Rex Comer of Cathedral City, California, Beverly (Carl) Garrison, Brenda (Eugene) Finney all of Midland; 12 grandchildren; Greg(Tammy)Riggie, Tim Riggie, Kathy Morrow, Leigh Ann (Steve) Anderson. Curt (Brenda)Tucker, Chris (Cheryl) Garrison, Marty (Jacy) Garrison, Denise (Ron) Chamberlain, Jeff (Missy) Finney, Amy Finney and Abbie Finney., 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; special daughter in law, Ellen Tucker of Beaverton; many nieces and nephews; sisters in law, Ruth Mashue of Midland and Jenny Mashue of Florida. Ella was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Irene Witkoske, John "Johnny" Mashue, Isabel Orwig, Emily Smith, Adrian Mashue, Alice Relyea, twin brother, William "Willie" Mashue, James Mashue; sons in law, Vernon "Buzz" Riggie, Floyd VanHorn; grandson, Michael Riggie; great grandson, Michael Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday April 6, 2009 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford. Pastor Paul V. Young will officiate. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends may visit at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Personal messages of support for the family may be offered at www.wilson-miller.com.
