Elizabeth "Liz" Watkins, age 59 went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2013.
The daughter of the late John and Emma (Pickens) Watkins Sr. was born on October 4, 1953 in Midland. Liz had worked at the Ashman Court Hotel in Housekeeping and as a secretary for Dittenbir Builders. She was a long time member of the Midland Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, hunting and gardening.
Liz is survived by a son, David (Jeannie) Butters of Midland; daughters, Penny (Tim) Prince of Sanford and Tina Butter's and her fiance' Kim Prince of Sanford. She will be missed by eight grandchildren, her brothers, John (Darlyn) Watkins, Victor (Dar) Watkins, Eddie (Rena) Watkins, Jesse (Mary) Watkins, Shamrock Watkins and her sister, Mary Helen (Clifford) Braley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Watkins will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 10, 2013 from the Midland Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Payne officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 am until time of service. Interment will be in Lee Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the family.
