Elizabeth Gould Harmon

Elizabeth Gould Harmon, age 101 of Midland, passed away peacefully Thursday June 13, 2019 at Midland King's Daughters Home with her family by her side. The daughter of the late Fletcher and Bessie (Covell) Gould was born February 9, 1918 in Owosso. She attended Hillsdale College. On September 21, 1946, Elizabeth married Brinton E. Harmon in Owosso. After nearly 60 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on July 5, 2006.


Elizabeth was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served as a circle leader, a local service chairman, and participated in Bible Study Group. Elizabeth also was a member of the DAR, and is a Mayflower descendent. She was employed at various times in her life as a nursery school teacher, an office administrator, and a sales clerk. She enjoyed homemaking, knitting, piano, and trailering. Elizabeth's love of family was always the priority in her life.


Elizabeth will be missed by her children, Betsey (Lou) Guenther of Midland, Rebecca (Michael) Muir-Harmony of Bernardston, MA, and Todd (Gayla) Harmon of Midland, her daughter-in-law Barb Gould of Marshall, TX, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.


In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son Larry Gould, her brothers Frederick and Charles Gould, and her twin sister Anne (Larry) Smith.


Funeral services for Mrs. Harmon will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 16, 2019 from Memorial Presbyterian Church with Pastor Matt Schramm officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. Memorials may be offered to Memorial Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
