Elizabeth Marie Bauknecht

Elizabeth Marie Bauknecht, age 97 of Midland, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home. The daughter of John C. and Sadie M. (Bryan) Bauknecht was born May 21, 1924 where she was raised and educated. Elizabeth was a devout Christian and was baptized in July of 1927. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Antioch Circle.

Along with her devotion to Trinity Lutheran Church, Elizabeth was the oldest living member of the Studley Grange in Midland. She enjoyed cooking, freezing her squash, and tending to her peonies. Elizabeth truly enjoyed playing Skip-Bo game with her special friend on Sunday's visit with Marijean Fitzgerald. She also enjoyed teaching/playing with her Caregivers for the last 6 years.

Surviving is her close friend/church family, Mary Jo Clute and her husband Doug Clute who often did her house maintenance; church family/caregiver, Catherine Isola; caregivers, Sherry Sharon, Suzanne Leach, and Sharon Duford. Also surviving are many other caregivers through Bayside as well as many cousins and friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, John C. Bauknecht; mother, Sadie M. Bauknecht; along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Gerald Ferguson will officiate with a luncheon to follow. Committal services will be at Midland City Cemetery following the luncheon and will be held at 1:30 pm.
