Elaine Marquiss

Elaine M. Marquiss, age 81 of Hope died Friday April 13, 2012 at Brittany Manor after a battle with liver cancer. The daughter of the late Ira and Nina (Timmons) Manges was born on July 20, 1930 in Midland. On August 14, 1951 she married Stanley Marquiss. Elaine loved traveling and enjoyed Branson, Missouri and Florida. The month of August was always devoted to camping and salmon fishing at East Lake Camp Grounds in Manistee. She enjoyed reading in her spare time and also attended the Hope Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 61 years, Stanley Marquiss; son, Randy (Dawn) Marquiss; daughter, Luann Russell; grandsons, Barry, Brett and Adam Marquiss; brother, Bernard (Pat) Manges; sisters, Marge Cundiff and Karen Rolley; and brother in law, Bill Horning.
Elaine was predeceased by her son, Roger Marquiss.

Funeral and committal services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, April 16, 2012 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Neil Wiggins of Hope Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the Hope Baptist Church or to MidMichigan Home Health Care. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and cards.
