Edward H. Reisinger, age 61, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on June 25, 2026, surrounded by his wife and loved ones. Born on June 1, 1965, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of Melvyn Reisinger, Sr. and Merle McClain.
Edward proudly served his country as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army’s 7th Division Bravo Company, earning the prestigious Special Operations Combat Engineer award. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career in engineering and construction. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Project Scheduler II with Nexus Engineering and previously as a Project Control Engineer at Consumers Energy. Edward was a skilled entrepreneur with expertise in industrial construction projects, including power plants and chemical manufacturing. He held certifications in Hazardous Waste Compliance and Oracle Primavera (P-6). Edward also owned several businesses.
A graduate of Bullock Creek High School, Edward was a 4-star athlete who excelled in sports. He earned an Associate of Science degree in chemistry from Delta College in 1990 and a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Central Michigan University in 1993. During his time at CMU, he served as President of the American Society and Collegiate Chapter of the Sales Business Marketing Association.
Edward had a passion for music, drawing, golfing, camping with family, woodworking, competitive shooting, and grilling. He enjoyed science, chemistry, and poetry, holding seven patents. Edward had a very close relationship with all his children and all his extended family members. He was deeply involved in professional organizations such as the Society for Protective Coatings, North American Corrosion Engineers (N.A.C.E.), and the Polyurea Development Association (PDA).
Edward is survived by his wife, Tammy Thompson; his children, Brittany (Dave) Wood, Brianna Reisinger, Brenden Reisinger, Corbin (Brittany) Thompson, and Logan Thompson; grandchildren, Max and Rowan Pochert; his mother, Merle Reisinger; and brothers, Melvyn Reisinger, Jr., and Bruce Reisinger. He was predeceased by his father, Melvyn Reisinger, Sr., and brother, Brian Reisinger.
Edward was a devoted son, husband, father and best friend. He loved nothing more than having family together and was proud of his blended family.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Edward’s honor. The Reisinger family is being cared for by Wilson Miller Funeral Home.
