Edward Lee Porter Jr.

Edward Lee Porter Jr., age 77 of Beaverton, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2025. He was born on November 12, 1947 in Wyandotte, MI to the late Edward Sr. and Marguerite (Beule) Porter. He graduated from Taylor Center Highschool and went on to attend Henry Ford Community College.

Edward owned and operated several businesses in the area including LaSalle's Café, Tubby's Sub Shop, Let's Party, and Pizza King in both Midland and Sanford. After selling the businesses, he went on to drive big rigs with Old Dominion Freight Lines. In his free time, Edward enjoyed gardening, sailing, and riding motorcycles.

He will be missed by his son, Christopher (Dawn) Porter; grandchildren, Gabriel, Reagan, and Joshua; and sister, Anita Cox.

There will be a graveside service held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Midland City Cemetery, 3220 Orchard Dr. Midland, MI 48640. The grave is located in Section H and the cemetery will have a white sign marking the correct driveway. Memorial contributions may be offered to an organization of one's choice.
