Edward F. Magee, Sr.

Edward F. Magee, Sr., age 73 of Sanford, passed away Thursday October 12, 2017 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, North Carolina. The son of the late Eugene and Katherine (Dely) Magee was born in Troy, Michigan on January 14, 1944. Ed was employed with General Motors, retiring in 2001 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, Up North to his kid's cabin, going to antique car and tractor shows, riding his motorcycle, and snowmobile in his earlier years and hunting. Ed most of all enjoyed being with his grandchildren and family.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years the former Sharon C. Swindlehurst of whom he married on February 20, 1971; children, Joseph (Elaine Drew) Lipka III of Jacksonville, Fl., Shuron (Todd) Holder of Morrice, Michigan, Danyale Lueck of Midland, Edward "Eddie" (Holly) Magee of Sanford; grandchildren, Kristina, JT, Jospeh Lipka, Allan Holder, Brittney Kincaid, Ashley Warner, Nathan Melder, Nick & Kryah Dillahunty, Maizie Magee; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Beverly) Magee; sister, Shirleyann Eaglen. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 7 sisters.
