Edith Irene Collier

Edith Irene Collier, age 94 of Midland, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at MediLodge of Midland. She was born in Neon, KY on March 14, 1929 to the late Aaron and Clio (Henderson) Collier. Edith married Vigil Collier on June 2, 1949 in Cromona, KY. They shared 56 years together before his death in 2005.

Edith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Friendship Club from 2007-2011. Her kitchen was her ministry and touched many lives through her cooking and sharing with others. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and loved to read and write. Most of all, she will be remembered for the love she had for her family.

Surviving are her children, Virginia Lynn Eldridge, Virgil Alan Collier, Robert Kevin Collier; grandchildren, Ryan Torre, Marisa Thornburg, Grant Torre, Alan Collier, Daniel Collier, Nathan Eldridge, and Rachael Collier; siblings, Ivadene Collins, Bill Collier, and Mazie Beverly. In addition to her parents and husband, Edith was preceded in death by her siblings, Pauline Toomajanian, Shirley Hamilton, Clarance Collier, and Hershel Collier.

There will be a graveside service held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, 38425 Garfield Rd. Clinton Twp., MI 48038. Memorial contributions may be offered to Youth for Christ – Detroit Metro, 23136 Hughes Ave. Hazel Park, MI 48030. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
