Edith Carlson, age 94 of Midland, died Tuesday October 6, 2009 at King's Daughters Home. The daughter of the late William and Ocie (Alspaugh) Anger was born in Ingersoll Township on December 29, 1914 where she was raised. Edith graduated from Midland High School in 1927. On January 19, 1935 in Angola, Indiana Edith married Roy Carlson. He died on June 25, 1994. Edith had been employed with Joel Kahn Attorney for many years and then with AMPM Ad Agency in Midland. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and King's Sons and Daughters. Edith enjoyed sewing and made many children's quilts and doll dresses for donation to local shelters.
Surviving are her son, David (Paula) Carlson of Midland; 2 grandchildren, Sue Morrison and Steve Carlson; 7 great grandchildren, Brianne, Andy, Christian, Molly, Terry, Samantha and Austin; brother, A. Lee Anger; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Clemon, Elroy and Tom Anger; sister, Ellen Short.
Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday October 9, 2009 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Jeremy Africa of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 5 pm. Memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund.
