Edgar W. Behrens, Jr.

Edgar W. "Ed" Behrens, Jr., age 78 of Midland, died Saturday May 29, 2010 at MidMichigan Medical Center. The son of the late Edgar W. and Gwendolyn (Geneit) Behrens was born in Petoskey, Michigan on October 11, 1931 where he was raised and educated. Ed had been employed with The Dow Chemical Co. until retiring in 1988 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing golf, fishing, woodworking and being with his grandchildren. On June 27, 1959 in Midland Ed married the former Patricia Shelley.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years Patricia; daughters, Jenni Behrens of Midland, Julie (Frank) Keelty of Knoxville, Tennessee, Missy (Kyle) Crook of Midland; grandchildren, Alex, Corey and Jordan Keelty, Caitlyn Crook, Tanisha, Evan, Noah, Grace, Anna and Becca Frick; brothers, Tom (Amy) Behrens of Midland, Bruce (Sophie) Behrens of Lansing; sister in law, Donna Bennett; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 2, 2010 from Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Ed's family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
