Earl B. Cundiff, Jr., 85, of Hope passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 15, 2009. He was born October 19, 1923 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the son of the late Earl and Raye (Lovelace) Cundiff, Sr. He was united in marriage to Margorie Manges on November 1, 1945 in Hope. Earl had served in the 483rd Group 816 Squadron with the 15th Air Force stationed in Italy in 1943-1945. Earl retired from the Dow Chemical Company in 1980 after 33 years of service. He was a life member of the Coleman VFW Post #1071, a member of the Midland American Legion Berryhill Post #165, the 483rd Air Force Association and the Midland Centre Lodge #273 Free & Accepted Masons.
Earl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margorie; daughters, Dawn (Jon) Fennych, Vicki Miller and Kayla (Howard) King; 4 grandchildren, Monte (Melissa) Loose, Sonji (Tom Joyce) Martin, Lisa (Tom) Johnson, and Matthew (Heather) Loose; -8- great grandchildren, Kalen and Serenity Loose, Jasmine and Jade Martin, Brandon and Brittany Johnson, and Kennedy and Ashlynn Loose; and his feline companion, Puddin. In addition to his parents, Earl was predeceased by his brothers, Jimmy and Jack; sisters, Betty Sue Archibald and Jayne Marshall; and son in law Max Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend William Schaard, Chaplain of Southern Care Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
