Duane "Pete" G. Peasley

Duane G. "Pete" Peasley, age 81 of Midland died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Cascades Senior Living. The son of the late Roy G. and Olive I. (Miles) Peasley was born on April 28, 1929 in Lee Township where he was raised and educated. Pete served with the Army Air Corps during WWII and later with the Navy Reserve for 26 years. On February 18, 1950 he married the former Lida M. Woodcock and she predeceased him March 26, 2010. Pete worked for the Dow Chemical Co. as a pipefitter for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church, member of the American Legion Berryhill Post #165 and Center Lodge #273 F. & A. M. Pete enjoyed being with his family and traveling.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Gunter of Sylva, NC, Sandy (Mike) Brommer of Midland, Julia Peasley of Midland, Kimberly (Ray) Parker of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, Michael (Clyste) Robinson, Kristina (Chris) Baker, Sean Gunter, Jessica (Charles) Wilder, Blake (Brandy) Moore, Madeline Parker; great grandchildren, Christian, Mykayla Wilder, Zachary, Trevor and Elizabeth Baker; sister, Ilene Kukulka of Saginaw. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Robert, Jack and sister, Blance Gallihugh.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 4, 2011 from Messiah Lutheran Church with the Reverend Kurt Weber officiating. In celebration of Pete's life a Pig Roast will be held following the church service at 2463 Ashby Road, Midland. Private interment will be in Homer Twp. Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Midland Area Veterans and U.S. Army Funeral Honors Guard. Memorials may be offered to the Midland Area Veterans.
