Douglas D. Feaster, age 79 of Midland, passed away Thursday evening January 9, 2020 at his residence. The son of the late Lawrence L. and Nora E. (Reisner) Feaster was born in Midland on December 2, 1940 where he was raised and educated. Doug was employed with 3M Scientific Anglers until retiring in 2005 after 44 years of service. He was a Charter member of the Hope Township Fire Department serving for 23 years, Pine River Long Rifleman of Midland and the NRA. He enjoyed bowling, playing baseball and was playing softball until the age of 62. Doug was also an avid Lion's fan, but the greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, the former Karen N. Ovaitt of whom Doug married on February 28, 1959 at First United Methodist Church in Midland; daughter, Kelli Weakman; son, Reed Feaster; daughter in lawn, Debra Walser Feaster; grandchildren, Ryan Weakman, Courtney Johnson, Evan Feaster, Hannah Albers; great grandchildren, Mason & Emmet Weakman, Lucus Johnson, Leland Feaster; brothers, William and Gary Feaster. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Feaster.
Funeral services for Doug will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 14, 2020 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday from 5 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, MidMichigan Home Health Care (Hospice) or the American Diabetes Association.
