Dorothy L. "Dottie" Amley

Dorothy L. "Dottie" Amley, age 91 of Sanford, died Tuesday September 23, 2014 at her residence. The daughter of the late Elmer and Mary A. (Yanna) Friday was born in Gibson Township, Bay County on April 2, 1923. Dottie enjoyed being outside doing things in nature, working in her garden and reading. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. On March 27, 1944 Dottie married Oliver B. Amley and after 66 years of marriage he died on November 1, 2010.

Surviving is her son, Bruce (Diana) Amley of Phoenix, Arizona; daughters, Nancy (Ralph) Clark, Pamela (Kevin) Westendorf all of Midland; granddaughters, Julie (Rick) Ruppel, Jayne (Brian) Lavrack, Carissa (Paul) Rhead, Jodi Roman, Nicole Eisman, Teasha Moody; 13 great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters in law; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur, Robert, William and James Friday; sisters, Betty Bolduc and Mary Miller.

Funeral services for Dottie will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 27, 2014 at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Pastor Andrew Frey and Pastor Winston King will officiate. Interment will follow in Jerome Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
