On April 15, 2026, Dorothy “Bunny” Bovee passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Bunny was born on November 9, 1948 to the late William H. and Dorothy G. (O’Connor) Bohnow in Midland where she was raised and educated.
She was united in marriage to John R. Bovee on January 8, 1966, creating a union that would span over 60 years and many memories. In addition to her husband, Bunny’s memory will be forever cherished by her daughters, Tami (Frank) Knowles and Tracey (Roy) Dunbar; grandchildren, Christopher (Margi) Bovee, Brandon (Tasha) Bovee, Kevin Strait, Garrett Kapff and Tylar Kapff; great grandchildren, Adrianna, Kierra, Skyy, and Isabella; and her loving and spirited fur baby, Kujo.
Also surviving are her siblings, Barry (Pat) Bohnow, David (Julie) Bohnow, and Jan (Pat) Zileski; along with many other extended family members and close friends. In her younger days, Bunny enjoyed Powder Puff racing, taking the checkered flag once. She enjoyed crocheting, going bowling, and playing both softball and volleyball.
In addition to her parents, Bunny was preceded in death by her son, John Bovee, Jr.; siblings, Bill Bohnow, Kevin Bohnow, and Jon Bohnow; and sister in-law, Vivian Bohnow.
A service to honor Bunny’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2026 from the Wilson Miller Funeral Home. The family will greet guests on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Those wishing to contribute are asked to consider the Humane Society of Midland County.
