Dorothy Benchley

Dorothy P. Benchley, age 87 of Midland died at her residence on Monday, June 8, 2015. The daughter of the late Earl and Rena (Wyma) Chapman was born on September 29, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant where she was raised and educated. On February 7, 1928 she married Marvin Benchley in Mt. Pleasant and he predeceased her on September 9, 1981. Dorothy enjoyed drawing, ceramics and garage sales. She also enjoyed playing her guitar, writing songs of her faith in God's creations and was a prayer warrior for family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her sons: David (April) Benchley of Midland, Marvin Benchley, of Midland; daughters Carol (Ronald) Leigeb of Midland and Bonnie (Ron) Borowski of Kimball, MI. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and her sisters Wanita Swan and Pansy Thaller of Alma. Dorothy was also predeceased by her brother Maurice Chapman.

Private interment was in the Midland Cemetery and Memorial Services will be conducted at a later date by Pastor Tyler Leigeb of the Billing Bible Church where memorials may be offered in Dorothy's honor. Arrangements are by the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
