Doris F. Maxwell

Doris F. Maxwell, age 76 of Midland, passed away Tuesday morning May 17, 2022 at Nottingham Place. The daughter of the late Harvey F. and Ida M. (McWethy) Palmer was born in Midland on September 2, 1945. Doris attended Delta College after graduating from high school and at the age of 60 went back to Delta and received her Associates Degree in Business. She enjoyed reading, was an amateur writer and artist, gardening, but most of all she enjoyed helping people and visiting with many friends for coffee. On December 20, 1997, Doris married Jerry W. Maxwell. He died on February 19, 2001.

Surviving is her son, Greg (Karan) McLaren; daughter, Lori (Jon) Markkanen; grandchildren, Emily, Jari Markkanen, Joel, Mack, Megan McLaren; great grandchildren, Toivo, Kennedie & Vanna; brother, Ralph (Nancy) Palmer; sisters, Marilyn Jones, Janet Vance; sister in law, Pat Palmer; many nieces and nephews that knew her as Aunt Doris. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her grandson; Samuel McLaren; brother, Murray Palmer; brothers in law, Beryl Jones, Gerald Vance.

Funeral services for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 20, 2022 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
