Donald L. Starin, Jr.

Donald L. Starin, Jr., age 70 of Midland, passed away on Monday September 11, 2023 at his residence. The son of the late Donald L. and Charlotte (Ruby) Starin, Sr. was born in Lansing on October 20, 1952 where he was raised and educated. Don attended Michigan State University. He worked for Kelly Services in Dow for over 38 years. Don was a member of Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, a huge MSU fan, enjoyed doing woodworking, making many things for his grandchildren, watching movies, and reading the newspaper.

Surviving is his wife of 17 years, the former Deniece Smith of whom he married on September 2, 2006; sons, Donald L. Starin III, Kurt (Laura) Starin; daughter, Amy (Dirk) LaMee; son in law, Scott Syrowik; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Adam) Smith, Jaiden, Kianna LaMee, Harvey, Alice, Violet, Lily and Preston Starin. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Syrowik; sister, Doris Starin.

Funeral services for Don will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 16, 2023 at Holy Scripture Lutheran Church with Rev. Max Kerr officiating. Interment will follow at Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive guests at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Friday from 2 until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
