Donald M Somerville

Donald M Somerville, age 91 of Midland died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Toni & Trish House. The son of the late Clarence Huggard and Rhea Somerville was born on May 2, 1924 in Midland where he was raised and educated. Don worked for the Dow Chemical Co in powerhouse maintenance, retiring in 1981. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed casino trips and playing bingo. Don will be remembered for his hours of working "tinkering" on mechanical equipment.

Don is survived by his longtime companion Sandra Somerville and his step children Mary Ellen (Dean) Noack, Loretta (Bernard) Shook, Connie (Donald) Chapin all of Midland; grandchildren Bryan (Kellie) Somerville, Wendy (David) Van Zile, Ed (Sheri) Somerville, Kirk Somerville, Brent (Kari-Anne) Somerville and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Arthur and Michiel Somerville.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Erick Smith of the Midland Missionary Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm and from 10:00 am until time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be offered to the Toni & Trish House.

A special thanks to Kari-Anne, Sylvia & Beth for spending time with and helping to care for Don. Don was a wonderful grandfather and mentor to his 3 grandsons, Ed, Kirk, Brent after the death of their father, Art.
