Donald V. Livingston, age 94 of Midland, died Thursday morning July 24, 2014 at Rhoda's House. The son of the late Hugh and Lavina (Moore) Livingston was born in Ingersoll Township on March 11, 1920 and was a graduate of Midland High School. He then served in the United States Navy during World War II. Don was employed with The Dow Chemical Co. until his retirement in 1982 after 41 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, enjoyed deer hunting, traveling, woodworking, gardening and pets specially his dogs.
Surviving is his wife of 68 years the former Alpha I. Blodgett of whom he married on November 22, 1945; his children, Philip Livingston of Interlochen, Michigan, Lee (Betty) Livingston of Bellaire, Michigan, Marilynn (John) Lefler of Midland, Maxine (Jerry) Myers of Hemlock, Clifford Livingston of Greenville, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Nick, Erik and Vince; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Warren, Daniel, John, Robert & Roger Livingston; sisters, Beatrice Emery, Elsie Livingston, Dorothy Lashuay, Florence Lowry and Katie Mapes.
Funeral services for Don will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday July 28, 2014 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland. Rev. Dr. J. D. Landis will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
