Donald A. Boman, 68, of Hope died Monday, December 1, 2008 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant. The son of the late Charles and Bessie (Braley) Boman was born March 5, 1940 in Midland and was raised and educated in Hope. Don served his country in the US Army. On July 27, 1963 he married the former Helen Esch who predeceased him in August of 1993. Don worked as a welder, retiring from JE Johnson. He was an avid deer hunter, outdoorsman and raised beagle hounds.
Mr. Boman is survived by his daughters, Christine (Daniel) Clark of Trussville, Alabama and Esther (John) Boman-Rogers of Sterrett, Alabama; 5 grandchildren; brother, Charles Boman of North Dakota; and nephew, Phillip Boman of Beulah. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased his son, Donald A. Boman, Jr.; and brother, Ronald Boman.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hope Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Woodland Hospice and MidMichigan Alzheimers's Association.
