Don L. Hammond

Don L. Hammond, age 66 of Sanford, died Wednesday January 9, 2013 at his residence. The son of the late Leo J. and Priscilla (Welch) Hammond was born in Trenton, Michigan on August 29, 1946. Don had been employed with Cleveland Manor. He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, hunting, fishing, playing baseball, going camping and going on long rides in the car with no destination in sight.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years Doris Hammond, whom he married on June 19, 1979 in Hagerstown, MD; children, Don (Pamala) Hammond, Jr. of Beaverton, Chris (Penny) Hammond of Midland, Randy (Cynthia) Hammond of Zeeland, Tony (Brandi) Hammond of Midland, Holly (Edward) Magee of Sanford; 3 grandchildren, Maizie Magee, Drake & Dakota Hammond; brother, Bob (Patty) Hammond of Midland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy.

Funeral and committal services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 from Floyd Church of God with Pastor Jeff Eckman officiating. Interment will be in Lee Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to MidMichigan Home Care (Hospice).
