Dolores M. (Howard) Townsend

Dolores M. (Howard) Townsend age 82 of Midland died Sunday October 18, 2009 at Brittan Manor. The daughter of the late Harry and Lydia (Kane) Howard was born on April 29, 1927 in Rogers City. She moved to Midland as a youth and graduated from Midland High School in 1945. On June 22, 1947 she married Joseph Townsend in Midland and he predeceased her on December 29, 1992. Dolores had worked at the Frolic Sweet Shop and at Knepp's clothing store. Dolores and her husband were avid ball room dancers and were part of Dance Magic in Saginaw.

Dolores is survived by a son, Terry (Kathy) Townsend; daughter, Sherry (Larry) Jacobs both of Midland; grandchildren, Noah Cummings and Benjamin Cummings; great grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Joe and Laura Cummings. Dolores will also be missed by her close and dear friend Ned Bowden.

Funeral and committal services for Dolores will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Wallace H. Mayton III officiating. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of funeral on Wednesday. Memorials may be offered to the Food Pantry at Memorial Presbyterian Church.
