Dianna Martinez

Dianna Lynn Martinez age 68 of Midland died at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Saturday April 26, 2014. The daughter of Edna Michaud and the late Edward Ackley was born in Detroit on June 5, 1945 and was raised and educated in Flint and Riverside, CA moving to Midland in 1972. On December 1, 1962 she married Refugio "Marty" Martinez in Flint. Upon returning to Midland in 1972 she had worked for the Midland Public Schools in food service and later at Dow Corning where she worked in food service and retired in the year 2000 as a clerk. Dianna loved watching her daughter play softball and traveled extensively to watch the games. She enjoyed traveling and vacationed in Mexico, California and toured the West Coast. She was a long time collector of Native American artifacts and mementos.

Dianna is survived by her husband Marty Martinez and her mother Edna Michaud. She is also survived by her son Refugio "Marty" Martinez of Sanford; her daughter Shawn Martinez of Lansing and grandchildren Stacy, Peaches, Dakota and Sparty. She will also be missed by her siblings Michael (Kathy) Michaud, William (Ilene) Ackley, Russell (Sheri) Ackley, Bruce (Tami) Ackley, Jeanna Michaud, Jackie (Larry) Thrash and Naomi (Juan) Michaud-Cortez. Dianna will also be missed by her long time and trusting friends Chris Collison, Don & Geri Webber and Tom & Florence Brubaker.

In accordance with her whishes cremation has taken place and services will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are by the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
