Dennis M. Blevins

Dennis M. Blevins, age 90 of Midland, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Medilodge of Midland. He was born on July 24 in Marion, Michigan to the late Melvin and Carrie (Vallad) Blevins. Dennis proudly served our country with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Janet Case on October 21, 1951 in Marion, Michigan. Dennis graduated from Central Michigan University in 1959 and was a teacher/coach at Flushing, Summerfield, Davison and Meridian Public Schools for 30 years.

Dennis was a longtime member of Sanford United Methodist Church, American Legion, and the Elks. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, and going to the casino. Dennis will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor.

Surviving is his wife of 71 years, Janet Blevins; sons, Brian (Joanne) Blevins and Terry (Lynn) Blevins; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Rick Blevins; siblings, Oren (Audrey) Blevins, Gib (Marguerite) Blevins, Betty Robinson, and Ken Blevins.

Services to celebrate Dennis' life will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with a reception to follow at Sanford United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 – 7 pm and on Friday from 10 am until the time of service. A celebration of life service and interment, followed by a luncheon in Marion at a future date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Special Olympics.
