Denise M. Church

Denise M. Church, age 55 of Beaverton, died Wednesday June 10, 2009 due to injuries received in an automobile accident. The daughter of Peter and Dorothy (Schonefeld) Buffa was born in Flint, Michigan on December 1, 1953 and was a graduate of Midland High School class of 1972. Denise sold Miabella Candles and was a housekeeper for many Midland area families. She enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren, gardening, going to ball games, traveling with her husband and walking her dog, Bullet. Denise was involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. On September 15, 1973 in Midland, Denise married Richard "Rick" Church.

Surviving are her husband, Rick Church; daughters, Nicole (Jeff) Krauss, Janel (Jason) Swinson all of Hope; Dacia Church of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Madeline Krauss, Taylor & Sophia Swinson; parents, Peter and Dorothy Buffa; brothers and sisters, Theresa Dryer of Beaverton, Peter (Kari) Buffa, Paul (Jenny) Buffa all of Midland, Pat Buffa of California, Jackie (Kurt) Gay, Carol Barndt and Phillip (Jan) Buffa all of Midland; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Molly Hovey of Beaverton. Denise was preceded in death by a daughter, Janel Ann Church and a brother and sister in law, Bernie and Charlene Buffa.

A celebration of Denise's life will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 13, 2009 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Shangraw will officiate. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to American Cancer Society.
