Edward Kebblish, age 79, Deacon Emeritus of Our Lady of Grace Parish, St. Agnes Catholic Church of Sanford died November 18, 2014 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. The son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Benya) Kebblish was born June 21, 1935 in Gray, Pennsylvania. He was a 1953 graduate of Schenley High School in Pittsburg, PA and then graduated from West Virginia University School of Mines in 1958 in Morgantown, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering of Mines. On January 28, 1956 he married the former Julia M. Zuchelli and she predeceased him in December of 2006. Upon Ed's graduation he worked for several mining companies before working at Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1989 as a mining engineer and then moved to Midland. Ed was ordained to the Order of Deacon at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Sacrament in Detroit, MI on June 11, 1983. He served as a permanent Deacon for Our Lady of Victory Parish in Northville, Michigan, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Larkin Township, Michigan and Our Lady of Grace Parish, St. Agnes Church in Sanford. He currently held the status of Deacon Emeritus. He served over 25 years until his current health issues did not enable him to do so any longer. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all loved watching College Football and was a member of the Father Vernon Siermanski Knights of Columbus Council # 8043.
Ed is survived by sons Jeffrey (Colleen) Kebblish of Midland and Robert Kebblish of St. Clair Shores; granddaughter Kristen (Casey) Fowler of Commerce Twp., great granddaughters Kaitlyn and Hannah Fowler of Commerce Twp. He is also survived by his brother John Kebblish of Pittsburg, PA and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his sister Margaret Kebblish; brother William Kebblish and step brother Leonard Malchesky.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, November 24, 2014 from Our Lady of Grace Parish, St. Agnes Catholic Church of Sanford with Father James Hast O.F.M. Cap. as celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday November 23, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Deacon Ed will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Memorials may be offered to St. Agnes Church or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
