David N. Swarthout

David N. Swarthout, age 71 of Sanford, passed away Friday morning July 20, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland. The son of the late Carl and Ellen (Earle) Swarthout was born in Merrill. David had worked as a meat cutter for many area meat stores. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting in his earlier years and visiting with friends at the Sanford Eagles. David was a member of the Sanford Moose Lodge and Sanford Eagles.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years the former Euella M. Ecker of whom he married on January 9, 1965; sons, Chene Swarthout of Sanford, Clay Swarthout of Coleman, Reeve (Betty) Swarthout of Sanford; daughter, Shawn (Tony) Andrews of Shepherd; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Andrew Cross, Kim and Marc (Cindy) Swarthout; sisters, Carla (Robert) Burt, Tonia Swarthout, Biane (Joseph) McGee, Kaleen (William) Morris, Spring Stocks; brother in law, James Carbullido; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by brothers, Gary and Ben Swarthout; sister, RaeAnn Carbullido.

Funeral services for David will be held at 1:00 on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Rev. David Auckerman officiating. Burial will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the wishes of the family.
