On February 1, 2022 Darl Louis Spaeth, age 70 of Midland formerly of Caro, entered Heaven and said "Hi" to Jesus then hugged his loved ones. His body and mind will now be whole for eternity. Darl was born on May 27, 1951 to the late Louis John and Freida Irene (Snider) Spaeth in the thumb of Michigan. They lived on a farm outside of Elkton, Mi. until 1963. The family moved to Caro so Darl could attend the schooling he needed. In 2010 Darl and his mother moved to Midland to live with his sister Linea.
Darl enjoyed (when his body would let him) fishing, bowling, using the computer, game shows on TV, board games, listening to music, watching bowling with his dad, figure skating with his mother. He loved working with his dad on construction projects, also enjoyed doing crafts and cooking with his mom. Darl was excited to watch and listen to the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and MSU sports. He loved attending the Judson Collins Methodist Church Camp every summer. Darl worked for many years at the Tuscola County Sheltered Workshop in Caro. His love of music included singing "The Lord's Prayer" and singing with his niece Cyndi "You are my sunshine". Most of all Darl enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his sisters, Penny (Duane) Baker of Paw Paw, MI., Linea (Lee) Walkowski of Midland; nieces and nephews, Tim (Tina) Walkowski, Andy (Marianne) Baker, Amy Baker, Ted (Laurie) Walkowski, Ann Marie Baker, Cyndi (Mike) Siciliano; 14 great nieces and nephews; special friend, Karyl Lyn Dietz. In addition to his parents, Darl was preceded in death by niece, Abby Baker; great nephew, Nicholas Robert Brusach.
Funeral and committal services for Darl will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 5, 2022 at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Don Killey, Chaplin for The Care Team Hopsice, officiating. Burial will be alongside his parents at Indianfields Township Cemetery, Caro. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Darl's name may be directed to your local ARC or the charity of one's choice.
