Dante M. Valerio

Dante M. Valerio, age 100, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, MI. The son of the late Joseph and Amabille (Brunas) Valerio was born on July 2, 1909 in Novinger, MO moving to Illinois at age 5 and to Saginaw at age 6. On December 17, 1930 he married the former Vera Schmieder in Saginaw and she died on December 22, 1995. Dante worked for the Dow Chemical Co as an Electrical Engineer for 38 years, retiring in 1971. He resided at the Masonic Pathways in Alma since 2003. Dante was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Life member of Centre Lodge #273 Free and Accepted Masons, Bay City Consistory, member of the former Midland Order of Eastern Star #121 and the Order of the Amaranth.

Dante is survived by sons: Duane (Margaret) Valerio of Pinckney, MI, Marcus ((Marilyn) Valerio of Surprise, AZ and daughter Tamara (Mike) Lueders of Maryland Heights, MO, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings: Romeo Valerio, Leah Digiovanni, and Grace Aler.

Funeral service for Mr. Valerio will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, December 21, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home wit Pastor George Ayoub officiating. Entombment will be at Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to4 and 6 to 8 where a Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:30 pm.
