February 22, 2019, Pastor Dana Clay Simmons was ushered into Glory by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dana was born the son of Bobby and Jean (Snyder) Simmons on September 16, 1963. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and later joined the United States Army Guard of Midland. He has been a Pentecostal Church of God minister for 35 years and has been the Pastor of Calvary Worship Center, Bay City, MI for the last 24 years. In addition to this, he has been a truck driver for 22 years, the last 13 years for XPO Logistics at Dow.
On August 18, 1984, he married his lovely wife of 34 years, Margie (Booth) Simmons in Ruskin, Florida. He is survived by her and their children: Dana Clay and Whitney Simmons II of Riverdale, Mi., Mary '˜Libby' Booth of Midland, Megan Simmons of Midland, Alonzo Simmons of Midland, Seth and Michaela Simmons of Midland, Nina of Bay City, and Amelia Simmons of Midland; grandson '˜Trey' Dana Clay Simmons III; Mother, Jean Simmons of Alabama; Siblings, Dalena Simmons of Alabama, Darren and Wanda Simmons of Alabama, Dustin and Judy Simmons of Florida, Dallas and Laura Simmons of Tennessee; and brother in law, Eric Miller of Alabama, along with many nieces and nephews.
Dana was preceded in death by his father, Bobby and his sister, Dawn Miller.
Services will be conducted by Bishop Ron Mosier at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force and Midland Area Veterans. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
