Dana F. Murray

Dana F. (Howard) Murray, age 59 died at her residence on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The daughter of the late Douglas and Dorothy "Gussie" (Black) Howard was born on December 29, 1949 in Midland. She graduated from Western University with a BA in Education. On December 7, 1996 she married William "Bill" Murray at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Dana taught school at Blessed Sacrament for 27 years, retiring in 2003. Dana was an accomplished artist. She worked with several mediums, including painting, sculpture and art glass. Dana was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Dana is survived by her husband, William Murray; son, Alan Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; step son, Robert (Dana) Murray of Midland; step daughter, Susan Murray of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Kevin (Kathy) Howard of Midland, Brian (Tari) Howard of Rapid City, MI, Cameron (Barb) Howard of Traverse City, Timothy (Ruby) Howard of Rapid City; and her sister, Margaret "Peggy" (Rick) Penny of Beaverton. She was pre-deceased by her parents and a brother, John Howard.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, October 3, 2009 from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Father Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm with a Christian Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Dana will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of Mass. Memorials may be offered to Blessed Sacrament Church.
