Dale R. Ludwig, age 69 of Freeland, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Brittany Manor in Midland. The son of the late Adolf and Annette (Harmon) Ludwig was born in Alpena, MI on March 20, 1946. On September 25, 1966, Dale married Vivian A. LaFave in Harrisville. She predeceased him on July 14, 2008. He was employed by GM/Saginaw Steering Gear in production, retiring in 1999 after 31 and three quarter years of service. Dale took great pride in his work at GM receiving many awards. He enjoyed tinkering around on cars, projects with his son, hunting, and fishing.
Dale is survived by his son John Ludwig of Sanford; Daughter Betty Ludwig of Portage; Granddaughter Katelyn Ludwig; and his beloved dog Bear. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother Glenn Ludwig.
A celebration of Dale's life will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home at 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the wishes of the family.
