Dale L. Betts

Dale L. Betts, age 87 of Shepherd died at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Friday, August 15, 2014.
The son of the late Orval and Eva (Paulhamous) Betts was born on March 15, 1927 at the family home in Greendale Twp. where he was raised and educated. Dale served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater ribbon. On May 30, 1952 he married the former Elnora M. Mercer and she predeceased him on February 1, 1999. He later married Audrey Tucker and she predeceased him in 2008. Dale farmed the family farm and drove delivery trucks before working for the Bullock Creek Schools as a custodian and bus driver, retiring in 1982. Dale enjoyed working with horses and in his early years enjoyed horse pulling competitions. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion and enjoyed casino trips and dancing.

Dale is survived by his son, Dale R. Betts of Wynn, MI; grandchildren, Erin Betts and Josh Betts; and special friend and companion, Patsy Jamison.
He was predeceased by his son Tim Betts.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from the Tri County Worship Center, 609 W. Midland Rd. Auburn, MI. 48611 with the Reverend Marc Alba officiating. Interment will be in Greendale Twp. Cemetery at 3:00 pm with military honors under the auspices of the Midland Area Veterans and the US Army Funeral Honors Guard. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. And at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
